My Q1 2015 Recap

I couldn't believe that the first 3 months of 2015 have almost passed already!

As I haven't been active on the blog lately, I think it's good to write this quick recap to let you guys know what I've been doing to make 2015 my best year ever.

Putting My Fitness First

I've always been good at maintaining my health and fitness level over the years but my goals were so much more.

Really, I wanted to have a 6-pack and be able to perform incredible calisthenics movements like these.

So during the past 3 months, fitness has been my 1st priority. Which meant:

  1. I rarely missed my workouts. I did yoga in the morning and strength training/zumba dance in the afternoon.
  2. I followed my healthy eating plan closely.
  3. I didn't work for long hours and made sure I got enough sleep.

The results?

Well, it's still too early to achieve the goals but I definitely saw good results following the plan.

I dropped a few pounds of fat and added 6-8 reps to my pull-ups and pushups.

Oh, did I tell you that I could hold the headstand for over 30 seconds without the wall now?

Building a Great Team on Odesk

One of my goals for this year is to scale my t-shirt business to six figures in profit and I wouldn't achieve that without a strong system powered by a skilled team.

As a solopreneur, I could only go so far.

After reading The E-myth and Work The System, I now understood that it was the only way to build a sustainable business.

My first key hire was a project manager (PM) thanks for the suggestion of Jon Haver from AuthorityWebsiteIncome.com

And that was probably the best decision I've ever made for my business.

When I'm good at marketing and selling the products, I've never been an organized person.

The PM has been of great help to break down the business into smaller well-documented processes that other team members can execute on.

The team grew quickly and we settled at 5 for now with me, 1 project manager, 1 advertising manager, 1 graphic designer and 1 general virtual assistant.

I'm really excited about my new team and will write more about how we work together in future posts.

Launching My Amazon Affiliate Theme

Due to popular demand, I launched my Authority Azon product last month which was a WordPress theme to help build high-converting amazon affiliate websites quickly in just a few steps.

I got 50+ sales since launching and the customers seemed to love it so far.

Me and my developer are still working on more improvements to make this the best WordPress theme for amazon affiliates.

You can take a look at the theme here >>>

Helping My Girlfriend with Her Local E-commerce Store

We started this project nearly 8 months ago and I personally invested about $500 in the business.

My girl friend worked really hard for it and her effort definitely paid off. We're currently doing about $1k a month in profit and have just hired the first customer support person.

One of the lesson I learned from this side project was that local SEO was still really easy. The site grew very quickly to over 90,000 visitors a month with only 25 high quality articles and 2 backlinks.

I definitely need to spend more effort on optimizing the site so that we can turn even more visitors into customers.

My Goals and Plans For The Next Quarter

Stick to My Fitness-First Plan

I'm gonna do some traveling on Q2 so definitely need to put more effort on sticking to the plan. Fortunately calisthenics allows me to work out anywhere as my body is the only equipment needed.

Get to 5-figure Profit a Month Selling T-shirts

With the new team and system, I'm confident that we can hit some big numbers in the next 1-2 months. Currently we're profitable but not at the level I want yet.

Visit Bali for a Month and Scuba Dive

I haven't dived again since getting certified in Koh Tao on October last year.

Bali has some of the best dive sites in the world and I'm pumped to visit the islands in May. Some of my DC friends are already there so I'm really looking forward to the trip.
